AMESBURY, MA- Ronald Krzywonos, age 59, of Amesbury, died peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, September 13, 1952, son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Pyzek) Krzywonos and was a graduate of St. Raphael's Academy in Pawtucket and Bryant College in Smithfield, RI, going on to do post graduate studies at Bentley College in Waltham.
A resident of Amesbury for the past twenty years, Ron was a Product Manager for Loftware of Portsmouth, NH, where he had worked until this past month due to his illness.
He was a longtime active member of the Boston Area Toy Collectors Club
(wwwbostontoyclub.com) where he was a photographer and was instrumental in launching the club's publication, Toy Times. Ron was an avid naval enthusiast and collector, specializing in books and post cards.
Throughout his lifetime he was able to enjoy extensive international travel.
Never having had any children, he devoted himself to his cats, who were like his children.
His survivors include his brother, Richard Krzywonos of Pawtucket, RI; his best friend of more than 30 years, Stephen J. Lanzill and wife Beverly of Randolph; his loving cat, Sasha, along with a host of associates from Loftware and many members from the Boston Toy Club.
He will be missed by them all.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, immediately followed by a service at 8 p.m.
Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society, 63 Elm Street, Salisbury, MA 01952.
