PAWTUCKET - Roland Henry Marcotte, Jr., 54, of Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket, passed away unexpectedly at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. He was the husband of Dale A. (Houle) Marcotte to whom he was married on August 22, 1980.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on June 9, 1957, he was a son of Roland H. Marcotte, Sr. and Barbara May (Titus) Marcotte. He was raised and educated in Pawtucket having attended Tolman High School and he remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Marcotte was the owner and operator of Countryside Upholstery in Pawtucket for the past 30 years. He took great pride in providing customers with superior craftsmanship.
His most treasured times were those spent creating lifelong memories with his beloved children and cherished grandchildren.
As a model train enthusiast, he was a member of the National Model Railroad Association - Little Rhody Division.
In addition to his wife of 31 years and his parents, he leaves three children: Adam A. Marcotte of Pawtucket; Lori Jill Cord of Attleboro and Carol Jean Byron of Pawtucket; 8 grandchildren; a sister: Robin Lynn Coggins of Pawtucket and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket.
Children's room is available during the visitation.
Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket.
Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to return with the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Marcotte's name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the American Heart and Stroke Association.
