Rita M. Hughes
PAWTUCKET - Rita M. (Bedard) Hughes, 90, of Booth Ave. died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital of RI. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Hughes to whom she had been married for over 50 years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Gedeon and Emilia (Rousseau) Bedard.
She was a solderer for Robbins Co. of North Attleboro, MA retiring in 1982 and had previously worked at Royal Electric as a Plastic Moulder for 20 years.
Rita was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Church for over 50 years and a member of the Spirited Seniors as well as a member of the St. Teresa Seniors.
She is survived by one son, Robert T. and his wife Rita (Cabana) Hughes of Pawtucket and one daughter Barbara R. and her husband Norman Desmarais of Lincoln, one grandson, four granddaughters and eight great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Estelle Bedard, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Aime, Fidolin "Phil", Victor, Wilfred, Jourdain, Florence, and Bertha Bedard, Laura Neveu and Lillian Crete.
A funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Leo The Great Church, 697 Central Avenue, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4-7 PM.
