CENTRAL FALLS - Rhea E. (Lizotte) Benoit, aged 100, passed into eternal life on May 24. She was the beloved wife of the late Emile Benoit.
Born in Central Falls on July 12, 1911, she was the daughter of the John and Reina (Dupuis) Lizotte. She was pre-deceased by her three siblings, Germaine Dube, Roland A. Lizotte, and Jeannette Lizotte.
She had spent her life in Pawtucket and Central Falls and was employed by the former J.P. Coats textiles in Pawtucket and other area textile firms, retiring in 1976. She was a woman of tireless energy, incredible loyalty, a great sense of humor and had a deep devotion to God and her family. In the final days of her life she was meticulously cared for by the devoted staff of the Scandinavian Home in Cranston and Odyssey Hospice of RI.
Rhea is survived by her two nieces Diane Lizotte Scully of North Andover, MA., Suzanne Lizotte Nolan of Cary, North Carolina, and her nephew, John Lizotte of Cranston, RI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday May 29th at 9:30am from St. Matthew Church (Holy Spirit Catholic Community) 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls, RI. Burial will follow on Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
