Rev. Dr. A. Kenneth Curtis
PENNSYLVANIA - Rev. Dr. A. Kenneth Curtis, 71, a long time resident of Towamencin, went Home to Heaven on January 3, 2011. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Dorothy (Stevenson) Curtis.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Alton T. and Althea(Sweetland) Curtis.
Reverend Curtis, Ph.D. held two doctorates one earned at Boston University Graduate School and one honorary from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was ordained as a minister at Tremont Temple Baptist Church in 1964 and later spent decades producing Christian Films. The word retirement was not in his vocabulary, he worked until entering Hospice last month.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Bill Curtis and his wife, Linda, of Worcester and a daughter, Karen Mellinger and her husband, Paul, of Harleysville and five grandchildren, Michelle, Sharon and Joshua Curtis, and Ashley and Emily Mellinger. Also surviving is a sister, Priscilla Erickson and her husband, David, of VA.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Curtis.
Relatives and friends may greet the family Jan. 15, 2011 between 9:30 and 10:45 A.M. in the Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 West Chestnut Street, Souderton and are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 11 A.M.
