PAWTUCKET - Rene Berthelette, 84, of Pawtucket, passed away Friday, March 04, 2011 after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Alice (Laramee) Berthelette.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late George and Dora (Blanchard) Berthelette. Rene was an active member of Holy Family Parish. He was a member of the Big Brothers Association and the VFW. He was an army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his children, Rachel Cloutier, Diane Benoit, Denise, Marie, Jeanne, Paul, Daniel, Roland, and Gerald Berthelette; his brother, Romain Berthelette, his sisters, Theresa Berthelette, Grace Doyon, Germaine Fonseca, Solange Bertrand, and Gloria (Laudia) Beland. He was the brother of the late Jeannine Johnson, Laurent, Germain, and Roger Berthelette, eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2001 at 9am from the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Family Parish at Saint Joseph Church, Walcott Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8pm.
