Raymond A. Valentine
East Providence - Raymond A. Valentine, 85, of Irving Avenue and formerly of Arlington Drive, Lincoln died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Linn Health Care Center, East Providence. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Harrop) Valentine.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Andrew E. and Florence (Reddington) Valentine, he had lived in Lincoln for 32 years before moving to East Providence 25 years ago.
Mr. Valentine was an assistant manager at Harrop's Pharmacy, Pawtucket before working at Shephard's Department Store and Gladdings. He later worked as the cremationist at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence for 20 years retiring in 1992. He had also worked part-time for Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, Lincoln.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of St. Jude's Church, Lincoln.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Brother Enoch John Valentine of Providence; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late C. Edward, Francis, Robert, Thomas and Henry Valentine, and Catherine George and Madeline McNeilly.
His funeral will be held SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30 at 8:45 A.M. from the BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Jude's Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
