LINCOLN - Rachel J. Botelho, 92, of Sales Hill Road and formerly of One Mendon Road, Cumberland died Tuesday in The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the wife of the late Herman Botelho.
Born in Switzbeurg, Canada she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mariana (Bonneau) Menoche. She resided in Manville for the past 11 years previously living in Cumberland and Pawtucket.
Mrs. Botelhos' life revolved around her family. She was a former member of the Cumberland Tenants Association. She was also active with the R. I. Travelers and was a former Den Mother for many years.
She leaves six sons, Robert Botelho of Albion; Joseph and Richard Botelho both of Lincoln; Louis Botelho of Pawtucket; Philip Botelho of Cumberland and William Botelho of Burrillville. Two sisters Doris Nadeau of Hamden, CT and Theresa Chabot of St. Jean, P. Q., Canada. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was the sister of the late Horace Menoche and Janet Gagnon.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School St., Albion. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
