PAWTUCKET â Mark Binder, author of the groundbreaking childrenâs book âCinderella Spinderella,â is taking his work one step further with the âPay a Book Forwardâ campaign.
Binder, an award-winning author and story performer, developed âCinderella Spinderellaâ with illustrator Steve Mardo to give readers a choice in how the characters are portrayed. The book can be ordered with Cinderella and the Prince as black, white, Asian, Hispanic or Indian. What began as a spoken-word story of Binderâs turned into a very original way of telling a classic fairytale, allowing readers of all ages and origins to personalize their book.
â âCinderella Spinderellaâ is a book that celebrates diversity and owning your identity,â notes the author. âIt not only teaches a lesson, but it is a beautifully illustrated and really fun story to read.â
Now, Binder aims to bring âCinderella Spinderellaâ to audiences unable to afford copies of their own.
