Pawtucket group to host first art exhibit

September 16, 2012

PAWTUCKET — Pawtucket Citizens Development Corporation (PCDC) this month will hold its first art exhibit and benefit art auction.
The exhibit runs through Sept. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. The fundraising auction will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20. Both events will be at Machine with Magnets (MWM), located at 400 Main St.
Tickets for the auction are $20 and are available at the door or on-line at www.pawtucketcdc.org. In addition to the auction, the evening will feature live music by Michelle Cruz Quartet, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar.
"A Good Home" is an unjuried exhibit intended to celebrate PCDC's transformational work in making the neighborhoods of Pawtucket and Central Falls safer, stronger and more vibrant. The proceeds from the auction will assist PCDC in continuing its work in both cities. Artists were invited to explore the theme of home in their work.
Alison Bologna, NBC 10 co-anchor and owner and director of the Shri Studio in Pawtucket, will be the master of ceremonies and auctioneer.
PCDC not only creates housing, but also weaves together the fabric of neighborhoods to create communities. Since 1990, the non-profit community development corporation has developed and managed affordable housing and led neighborhood revitalization efforts by making strategic investments in the health and well being of these communities.
