During the monthly Major Walter G. Gatchell VFW Post# 306 and Ladies AuxilIary spaghetti dinner fundraiser located at 171 Fountain Street in Pawtucket, RI on Thursday night, February 24, 2011, Gatchell Post# 306 Ladies AuxilIary President Penny Trottier(Pawtucket, RI), left, whose husband is the Gatchell Post Commander counts out split-the-pot tickets for Raymond Bessette(Cumberland, RI), right, who is a Vietnam War veteran, as Gatchell Post# 306 Quartermaster Joe Kelley(Pawtucket, RI), center, who is a WWII veteran that made the Normandy landing takes the money for the dinner tickets. The monthly fundraiser spaghetti dinner with meatballs and sausage is open to the public the last Thursday of the month from 4pm to 7pm for just $7. According to Gatchell Post# 306 Commander Mo Trottier, the storms have killed them this winter with last month's dinner having to be postponed and the spaghetti dinner is the main fundraiser which keeps the post operating.
