During the Stitch 'n Bitch Knitting and Crocheting Program at the Pawtucket Public Library on Thursday night, February 24, 2011, Kailyn McDuff(Pawtucket, RI) crochets a pocketbook. Stitch 'n Bitch is a phrase that has been used to refer to social knitting groups which meet on a weekly or monthly basis at locations throughout the world dating back to at least WWII(1939-45) while their husbands were overseas. This self-lead group meets every Thursday night from 6pm-8pm at the library. New knitters and crocheters of all ages are always welcome. All you need to bring is your own materials, snacks and gossip! Butch Adams/The Times.
