Paul L. Gagnon
CUMBERLAND - Paul L. Gagnon, 49, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Center, after a valiant battle with cancer. His battle was won though death resulted.
Born in Providence, he was the son of Laurent Y. and Louise G. (Riendeau) Gagnon. He was the beloved husband of the late Karen (Drezek) Gagnon. He leaves his devoted daughters, Heather M. and Ashley E. Gagnon. In addition, he leaves his two brothers, Mark D. Gagnon and his wife Suzanne of Voorhees, NJ and Peter J. Gagnon of Katy, TX, six nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
He was employed as a fire department dispatcher for the City of West Warwick for the past 7 years, and was a retired firefighter for the Central Falls Fire Department. He was a member of the RI Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums Band, and the American Firefighters Motorcycle Club.
Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, May 1, from 4-8 PM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 2, at 10 AM in the St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
