Olympia M. Teixeira
CUMBERLAND - Olympia M. Teixeira, 85, of Mill St. passed away Tuesday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket.
Olympia Teixeira grew up in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland and lived with her mother Sabina, father Antonio, brother Ernest Teixeira and sister Zulmira Edes.
Olympia did many community activities with her friends and coworkers. She graduated from Cumberland High School and then worked at Corning Glass Co., Sydney Blumenthal and Peterson Puritan where she worked for over thirty years and helped many Portuguese people get their first jobs.
Olympia was a very happy and content person thought out her life. And like the rest of her family she was very kind and very generous to others.
Her family was her main focus. She will be greatly missed by them and her many friends.
She leaves a loving brother Ernest V. Teixeira of Cumberland and three adoring nieces Virginia Edes Crone of San Clamente, CA; Janice M. Albuquerque of Cumberland and Karen Edes Truitt of Anchorage, AK. Also surviving are 6 nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Zulmira Edes.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
