Normand J. Fugere
LINCOLN- Normand J. Fugere, 86, of Knollwood Drive, died Tuesday, June 25, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Ellen "Gert" (Pontbriant) Fugere and the husband of the late Clara (Berube) Fugere.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Joseph and Ida (Gagnon) Fugere, he had lived in Lincoln since 1962.
Mr. Fugere was an automotive technician for many years, working for B. A. Dario Ford, Baker Ford, and Notarantonio Ford, retiring in 1981.
A World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy, he was a member of the Eugene Lefebvre Post, V.F.W., and Post 14, American Legion. He was an avid golfer, and was a founding member of Lincoln Country Club, and a member of the Lincoln Council, Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of Saint Ambrose Church, Albion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Celine Johnson of Lincoln Jeannine O'Leary of Cumberland, and Donna McKenna of Cranston; one brother, Noel Fugere of Wilmington, MA; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Clarence M. Fugere.
His funeral will be held Saturday, June 29, at 8:45 a.m. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion.
