Norman R. DeBlois
ATTLEBORO - Norman Raymond DeBlois of Davis Street passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital at age 83.
He was the beloved husband of Rose (Godin) DeBlois for nearly 50 years.
Born January 3, 1931 in North Attleboro, he was a son of the late Ernest and Blanche (Paquette) DeBlois.
Norman grew up in North Attleboro and was a 1953 graduate of North Attleboro High School. He moved to Plainville in 1964 where he resided until moving to Attleboro in 1978.
Norman attended both the Rhode Island School of Design and Dean Junior College.
He worked as a jeweler at H.F. Barrows for 12 years and then Augat for 30 years first as a craftsman then a photographer and later a graphic artist before retiring in 1997. He worked doing freelance graphic artistry in his retirement and also for the Attleboro Senior Center under the direction of Madeleine McNielly.
Norman was a longtime member of the Masons, belonging to the Lafayette Lodge in Cumberland, RI and was an affiliate member of Bristol Lodge AF & AM in North Attleboro. He was a skilled amateur pilot and few out of the former Wilkinson Airport in North Attleboro.
He was also a member of the philosophical club The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC for over 40 years.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 21 from 2-4 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A prayer service will be held during the visiting hours beginning at 3:30 p.m.
