CENTRAL FALLS â€“ Declaring that â€śWe have come too far to turn back now,â€ť Mayor James Diossa was sworn in for his first full term in office on Monday, pledging to â€ścontinue the momentum, the positive energy that is flowing through Central Falls.â€ť
When he became mayor last year in a special election to replace a predecessor who was jailed on a federal corruption charge, Diossa told a small crowd in the high school auditorium, â€śThis was a city engulfed in a painful and costly bankruptcy with no end in sight. Today, Central Falls has emerged from that process stronger and more vibrant than ever, and we are busy building a brighter, sustainable future for all our residents while ensuring that our cityâ€™s future is secure.â€ť
