PAWTUCKET - Mary Lamka, 93, passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Care Center in Providence.
Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Pizio) Lamka. She lived in Pawtucket for the past 60 years and was formerly of New York City.
Before retiring Mary was employed by ITT Royal Electric of Pawtucket in the Quality Control Department. She had a strong passion for gardening. Mary was a kind gentle spirit who loved animals and music.
She is survived by her loving son Andrew M. Lamka of Pawtucket and Coventry and his significant other Jane Newton of Coventry, and their golden retriever Molly who Mary dearly loved. She was the sister of the late John, Stephen and Michael Lamka.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday February 18, 2014 at 10 :00 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Pope John Paul The II Parish (St. Leo The Great Church) 697 Central Avenue Pawtucket at 12:00 p.m. CALLING HOURS TUESDAY FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, East Providence.
