PAWTUCKET - Mary F. (Bernard) O'Connell, 90, of Pawtucket died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Providence. She was the wife of the late Pawtucket Police Sgt. Ralph E. O' Connell. They were married 55 years.
Mrs. O'Connell was born in Pawtucket, a lifelong resident of the city, the daughter of the late Edmond J. and Sarah A. (Tennyson) Bernard.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a past member of the St. Teresa's Senior Group, and the Leon Mathieu Senior Center. She was also a member of the St. Mary's Bowling League for 47 years.
Mrs. O'Connell is survived by her son, Michael F. O'Connell and his wife, Kelly of Barrington, and her daughter, Barbara M. O'Connell of Pawtucket. She also leaves her grandson, Max O'Connell, two step grandchildren, Jake and Madeline Davis and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Patricia A. O'Connell and the sister of the late Harold J. Bernard and Shirley R. Kisilywicz.
The funeral for Mrs. O'Connell will be Friday at 9:00am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church,103 Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Her burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.
