Marjorie Reardon Hartnett
SEEKONK, MA - Marjorie Reardon Hartnett, 79, of Seekonk, MA died March 11, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice in Providence. She was the wife of Robert A. Hartnett of Stoughton, MA.
She was born the daughter of the late Edward W. Reardon and Doris Smiley Reardon. She resided in the Saylesville section of Lincoln, RI during her youth. She then moved to Pawtucket, RI and finally to Seekonk, MA. She immensely enjoyed her summer retreat at her beach in Westport, MA.
Mrs. Hartnett was a very successful Real Estate Broker with Century 21 T.R. Little Realtor for over 40 years, and more recently for Aubin Corp. She had previously worked for the original Fram Corporation in the Sales and Cost Accounting Departments. Marjorie was a graduate of The Wheeler School in Providence, Katherine Gibbs Business School, and a graduate of the Realty Institute. She was a member of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors and the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.
In previous years, Marjorie was very involved in, and was one of the originators of, the Seekonk Girls Softball League, coaching for many years. She volunteered on the Seekonk Recreational Committee and for the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, Little League and other youth organizations. She was also a volunteer for Channel 12 on the Consumer Call for Action program.
She had played golf at Exeter Country Club and Sun Valley Golf Club for many, many years. She also played golf at Middlebrook and Touisett in recent years.
Marjorie is survived by her son Robert Andrew Hartnett, Jr. and his wife Dorothy Hartnett of Cumberland, and a daughter, Atty. Patricia A. Hartnett of Watertown, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert A. Hartnett, III and David J. Hartnett, a brother Albert F. Reardon of Warwick and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, June H. Reardon, and brothers Edward W. Reardon, Jr. and Gary E. Reardon.
Mrs. Hartnett's funeral will be Friday, March 15th in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket RI at 10:00 AM. Her burial will be in the Smiley/Reardon family lot in Riverside Cemetery in Pawtucket. Her calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
