Marguerite P. Platt
PAWTUCKET - Marguerite P. "Maggie" (Dyer) Platt, 84, of Nancy Street died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Pawtucket Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Pawtucket.
Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Fisher) Dyer, she had lived in Pawtucket for over 50 years.
A member of Park Place Congregational Church, Pawtucket, Maggie served as the sexton of the Church for 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was also a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry of the Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Frias of Coventry and Virginia R. Platt of Pawtucket; two sons, Ernest Platt Whitmarsh of Northport, FL and Robert Whitmarsh of North Dakota; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Roberta Potts and the sister of the late Gertrude Platt, Emma Dyer, Mildred Watson, and Walter, Richard and David Dyer.
Her Memorial Service will be held SATURDAY, MAY 21 at 11 A.M. in Park Place Congregational Church, 71 Park Place Pawtucket. Private burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
