CUMBERLAND - Manuel Correia, 80, of Curran Road, passed away Tuesday in the Home and Hospice Care of RI Inpatient Unit, Providence. He was the husband of the late Fernanda (DeSousa) Goncalves Correia.
Born in Darei, Mangualde, Portugal he was the son of the late Leonido and Maria Correia. He came to this country in 1969 settling in Cumberland.
He was employed by the former American Insulated Wire of South Attleboro for 20 years until his retirement.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
Mr. Correia leaves five children, Jorge and Joaquim Correia both of Lincoln; Carlos Correia of Cumberland; Ana Gauthier of North Providence and Madalena McGregor of Manville. He also leaves a brother and two sisters, all of Portugal. He was also the loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
