Man's ear bitten off during attack

September 23, 2013

PAWTUCKET—A 21-year-old Providence man was arrested after biting off the ear off of a 43-year-old Pawtucket man he was acquainted with during an altercation outside of The Met nightclub, 1005 Main St., on Saturday night, police said.
Police Maj. Arthur Martins said that the two men, Nicholas Parlee and Jeremy Hilton, who he described as friends, had been at The Met and were leaving at around 11:30 p.m. when they got into a dispute. During the fight, Parlee grabbed Hilton's head and bit his ear completely off, Martins said.
Martins said that police and rescue personnel arrived quickly and were able to retrieve the severed ear. They transported Hilton and his ear to the hospital. He said he did not know if doctors were able to successfully perform a re-attachment.
Parlee, of 834 Charles St., remained at the scene after the attack, and was taken into custody. He was charged with one count of mutilation or disabling, Martins said.
