Lucy F. Vassar
DELTONA, FL - Lucy F. Vassar, 93, died peacefully Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Deltona Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland Vassar. She was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of the late Oscar and Anna (Benoit) Gauthier. She was a resident of the Blackstone Valley most of her life until retiring to Florida.
She leaves her children Benjamin Vassar of SC, Darleen (Hugh) Thomas of Deltona, FL, and Robin-Lynne (Bernie) Collins of Wales, MA; a sister Lauretta Gast of Pawtucket, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Blessed John Paul II Parish Church of St. Leo the Great, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
