CUMBERLAND - Louise Silva, 88, of One Mendon Road, passed away Monday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Joseph Silva.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (deJesus) Francisco. She was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Mrs. Silva was employed as a line worker for Hindley Manufacturing Company for many years, retiring in 1988.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
Mrs. Silva was a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana for many years.
She leaves her two daughters, Natalie Kent and husband Gary of Rumford and Dolores Pontbriand and her husband Andy of Orlando, FL; two brothers, Elidio Francisco and his wife Carol, and Fernando Francisco; three granddaughters, one great-grandson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday at 10 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Curran Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, 5-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
