PAWTUCKET - Lorraine B. Messier, 79, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Roland A. Messier for 52 years.
Lorraine was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Donat and Yvonne (Dickey) Coutu and lived most of her life in the Blackstone Valley area. She worked in the Auditors Office of the City of Attleboro for twenty years until retiring fifteen years ago. She was a proud homemaker and loved spending time with her family and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she leaves her children Diane and husband Jean Migneault; Lisa and husband William Brown; Christopher and wife Jennifer Messier all of Pawtucket, and her son David Messier of Dighton, MA; her sisters Claudette Cebrowski of Dartmouth, MA and Michelle Benoit of Leicester, MA, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charlotte Balbaton.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Pope John Paul II Parish, St. Cecilia Church, Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket. There will be calling hours on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 8:30 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society in Lorraine's memory would be appreciated.
