Lionel O. Palin
CENTRAL FALLS- Lionel "Leo" O. Palin, 86, passed away Friday. He was the former husband of the late Claire M. (Morrisey) Palin with whom he will be laid to rest in eternal peace.
Born in Central Falls he was the son of the late Oscar and Louise (Charpentier) Palin. He was a Central Falls resident for most of his life but had also lived in Cumberland.
Mr. Palin was a truck driver employed by the former Law Trucking Co., Lincoln for 25 years until his retirement. After his retirement his mission in life was to serve and spread the Word of The Lord.
He was a WW II, U. S. Marine Corps veterans serving in the Asiatic Pacific
Theatre and participated in action on Okinawa from April to July 1945. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 251.
He was the beloved father of four daughters, Carole H. Borek of Cumberland, RI; Nancy R. Latimer of Riverside, RI; Candice M. Lescoe of Windsor, CT and Lori A. Ouellette of Attleboro, MA. Mr. Palin also leaves six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life and funeral with military honors will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St.. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrections Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
