LINCOLN – Police are investigating the second armed robbery of the Bank of America at 611 Smithfield Ave. in four months after a man entered the branch Monday afternoon and demanded money while threatening a teller with a handgun, according to police.
Lincoln Police Captain Philip Gould said the police department received a call from the branch at 3:55 p.m. reporting an unidentified male had walked in and pulled out a black handgun before demanding money from the bank teller.
“The suspect then fled on foot heading south towards Pawtucket,” Gould said. The robber was reported to have carried away an undetermined amount of cash, according to Gould.
