PAWTUCKET - Lily (Harris) Watkinson, 93, went to her eternal home Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Linn Health Care Center, East Providence. She was the wife of the late Arthur Watkinson.
Born in England, a daughter of the late Ernest and Lily (Booth) Harris, she had lived in Pawtucket for the past 64 years. She was a graduate of Kinyon's Commercial School. Mrs. Watkinson was an office worker and in later years loved her work educating customers about fabrics in local stores before retiring.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene Briggs and her husband, Marty of South Attleboro, MA and Linda Berrian and her husband, Myron of Edgewater, FL; five grandchildren (Chris, Keith, Mike, Katie and Becky); and six great grandchildren (Ashley, Austin, Makayla, Kelsey, Emma and Lilly) as well as several nieces.
She was known to all for her love of family, church and music. Lil spent all of her life using the talents she was given with sewing, knitting, music and volunteer service. She is most remembered for her amazing smile, strong faith, and gift of piano playing whether at church, family gatherings, minstrel shows, or volunteering to provide her music to entertain the elderly. She volunteered at the Lifecare Center in Attleboro and for many years at the United Methodist Elder Care in East Providence. She continued to do this until she passed.
She was a founding member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Lincoln and a 50+ year member of Queen Esther Chapter #2, Order of the Eastern Star.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln SUNDAY 3-6 P.M. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held SUNDAY at 5:30 P.M. at the funeral chapel.
A celebration of her life will be held MONDAY, JANUARY 7 at 10:30 A.M. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
