Lawrence J. Jette Sr.
PAWTUCKET - Lawrence J. Jette Sr., 85, husband of the late Rita A (Magnant) Jette, died in Plymouth Ma. on December 23, 2011. He had previously lived in Pawtucket, RI for most of his life. He was the son of the late Lillian Lawson and Joseph Jette.
He was father of three children, Adrienne R. Jette, Lillian V Jette and the late Lawrence J. Jette Jr. He is also survived by his two daughters-in-law Ellen Jette and Mary Schroeder-Jette, two grandchildren, Justin and Sarah, two great grandchildren, Claire and Lila. He leaves a sister, Lillian DeIorio, a sister-in-law Sr. Irene Magnant, a brother Robert Jette and five half sisters. He served four years in the Army and was stationed in Italy during WWII. After his discharge from the army he became an active member of American Legion Post 25 in Pawtucket, he worked as a machinist at the Foxboro Company until his early retirement at age 59. He was very involved in scouting, (troop 28) he was a cub leader followed by a scout leader and then became a member of the Narragansett Council of the BSA. In that position, he worked with the scouts at Camp Yawgoog full time during the summers and on week ends during the winter until his retirement approximately 5 years ago. Services are private.
