Lance R. Langborg, Sr.
FLORIDA - Lance R. Langborg, Sr. 72 formally of Pawtucket died on August 17th at his home in New Port Richey, FL. He was the husband of Barbara (Emond) Langborg. Son of the late Kurt and Grace Langborg.
Mr. Langborg was a 20 year veteran of the Pawtucket Police Department and also a 20 year veteran of the Military serving 6 years in the Marines and 14 years in the Army National Guard 43rd MP Brigade, Cranston, RI. Lance also worked for the City of Pawtucket in Zoning Code & Enforcement. He Graduated from Salve Regina in 1976 and West High School in 1958. He was a Past President of the Pawtucket F.O.P and the Honor Guard. Mr. Langborg was also a member of the Masons and Elks. At the time of his death he served as the Director and President of the Community Volunteer Corps., Inc. in FL.
Besides his wife he is survived by 2 sons Lance, Jr. of Cranston and Brad of Pawtucket, 2 daughters Kristen McGill of Pawtucket and Sheryl Shem- Tov of Cranston. Four Grandchildren Benjamin and Jennifer McGill and Jordan and Aiden Langborg. His brother Robert Langborg of Lake Worth FL, and Karin Thorpe of Pawtucket. Several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Karl (Skippy) Langborg and Douglas Knapp II.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Major Walter G. Gatchell VFW Post# 306 171 Fountain St. 10:00 am Saturday August 27, 2011. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lance Langborg's Memory to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 29427, Atlanta, GA 30359 or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Mass/RI Chapter, 220 North Main St. Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760.
