Kathryn E. Fee
LINCOLN - Kathryn E. "Kitty" Fee, 95, of Sayles Hill Road died Sunday, August 20, 2011 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville.
Born in Tarentum, PA, a daughter of the late Jerome and Eola (McAlpin) Fee, she had lived in Lincoln for the past 91 years.
She was a counselor, elementary school teacher and physical education teacher in Lincoln and Providence for 40 years, retiring in 1977. She received her undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College and attended Wellesley College working towards her Master's Degree. She received her Master's Degree and her PhD, both in Education, from Boston University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an International Honor Society for Outstanding Educators. She was a supervisor for the first National Teacher Corps.
She was a Girl Scout Leader for over 80 years. She was a member of the Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus for many years.
She was an extensive world traveler visiting 65 countries after her retirement.
A member of Sayles Memorial Church, Lincoln since 1926, she was a member of the Church Choir for most of her life and she taught Sunday School.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Jerome J. Fee of Basye, VA. She was the sister of the late Rear Admiral (U.S. Navy ret.) John J. Fee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 at 11 A.M. in Sayles Memorial Church, 185 Chapel Street, Lincoln.
