EAST PROVIDENCE - June Harriet Reardon of Riverside, R.I. and her Westport MA retreat, passed away at home, Saturday, September 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
June was the daughter of the late Edward W. Reardon and Doris (Smiley) Reardon. She grew up in Saylesville and Pawtucket. June graduated Jr. High School from St. Mary Academy Bay View and graduated with honors from Pawtucket West High School. She later earned her Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Johnson and Wales University.
After high school, June and a childhood friend traveled cross country in a VW Bug and lived in Los Angeles for many years. When she returned home to RI, June opened one of the first T-shirt imprinting shops called "The T-Shirt Shop on Thayer Street". She later expanded the business and moved it to Chestnut Street in Providence, adding an impressive array of specialty advertising items, catering to the local colleges, businesses and campaigns.
Moving ever forward, June became the General Manager of Pro-Mail, a subsidiary of the Providence Center. In the most recent part of her extensive career, June obtained her Real Estate Brokers license and became an award winning Realtor, first with Keller Williams of Cranston, and for the past several years with Re/Max River's Edge in Barrington. June was a proud alumnus of Leadership Rhode Island 1997, a long-time member of the Business Exchange Club and the Greater Providence Board of Realtors. She was also a former member of the Metacomet Country Club.
June is survived by her loving wife and caregiver, Corleen Law. She also leaves her sister Marjorie Reardon Hartnett of Seekonk, Ma, and her brothers Edward W. Reardon Jr., of East Providence, Gary E. Reardon of Passaic, NJ and Albert F. Reardon of North Adams Ma.
