SMITHFIELD - Julio Coia 91, a resident of North Bay Manor, passed away on June 14, 2013. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Irene G. (Mello) Coia. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giulio and Angela (Capaldi) Coia.
Julio was a Supervisor for the former Valley Gas Company. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Julio loved to golf, ballroom dance, and spend quality time with his family.
Julio is survived by a daughter, Gail (Coia) Mignacca; two grandchildren, Kerri Polseno and her husband, Derrick Polseno, Sr, Robert Mignacca, Jr and his wife, Tracey Lee-Mignacca; four great grandchildren; Derrick, Jr and Jarred Polseno, Hayley and Caroline Mignacca; a nephew Deacon C. Patrick Sheehy and his wife Margaret; and her great niece, Megan Sheehy. Julio was the father of the late, Julio J. Coia and the Godfather of the late Timothy M. Sheehy.
Calling hours Wednesday MORNING, 8:30 - 10 AM in the A. A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 103 Pine St, Pawtucket. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary's Renovation Fund, 103 Pine St, Pawtucket.
