CENTRAL FALLS - Josephine (Abraham) McLaughlin, 87, who was also known as Sue or Josie, died Friday, April 28, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket surrounded by her loving family and friends.
A lifelong resident of Central Falls, she was one of fifteen children of the late Moses and Annie (Shabo) Abraham. She was politically active in Central Falls.
She was a member of St. Ephraim's Syriac Orthodox Church in Central Falls where she had been a member of the Ladies Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Coyle and Kellie Ann McLaughlin, both of Central Falls; one son, Stephen Barber of Lincoln; two sisters, Rose Sweeting of Central Falls and Joan Abraham of North Providence; four grandchildren, Matthew Espeut, Christopher and Jonathan Barber, and Justin Coyle; six great grandchildren, Allison and Marissa Barber, Patrick Coyle, Ciara, Jack and Hawk Kenny; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Patrick A. McLaughlin.
Her funeral will be held TUESDAY, MAY 3 at 11 A.M. in St. Ephraim's Syriac Orthodox Church, 215 Washington Street, Central Falls. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
