Joseph L. McDonald Jr.
PAWTUCKET - Joseph L. McDonald Jr., of Pawtucket, died March 11, 2011. Mr. McDonald was the husband of the late Gladys L (Bibby) McDonald.
He was born in Providence, the son of the late Joseph L. McDonald Sr., and Edna M. (Johnson) McDonald-Scanlon.
Mr. McDonald was a paper cutter for many years before retiring. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War.
As a youth Mr. McDonald excelled in baseball and track and field, receiving an invitation to try out for the former Boston Braves Major League Baseball Team.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his sister Carol Ann VanDale of Pawtucket and his brother John Scanlon of Rehoboth. He beloved brother, Edward "Ted" McDonald predeceased him by ten days.
