Joseph J. Dewey
EAST PROVIDENCE - Joseph J. Dewey, 81, of Rumford, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Habib and Adell (Ganem) Dewey. Joseph was a printer for the Sun Chronicle and the Pawtucket Times for many years, and he was a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Branch of Damascus. He dedicated his life with his time and compassion for his family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his sister, Sadie Remy, and many nieces and nephews, Barbara Levesque who was also his caretaker, Sally Ann Berthelette, Joanne Rahme, Thomas D'Ambra, Carol Lucchesi, Nancy Cuter, Mary Ann Petrucci, Louis Giglietti, Joey Giglietti, and Michael Rodriques. He was the brother of the late Mitchell and Anthony Dewey, Margaret Sonderman, Mary Giglietti, Josephine Rodriques, Annie D'Ambra, and Alice Dewey.
Visitation will be held Friday from 8:15 - 9:15am in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Basil the Great Church, Skyview Drive, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Saint Basil's Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited.
