LINCOLN - Joseph James "Joe" Goudreau, 49, of Dexter Rock Road died unexpectedly Monday, November 26, 2012 after a tree felling accident. He was the loving husband of Judi (Hinsdill) Goudreau.
Born in Providence, a son of Joseph A. and Catherine (Peacock) Goudreau of Lincoln, he was a lifelong resident of Lincoln. He was a 1979 graduate of Lincoln High School and a graduate of CCRI.
He was the supervisor of the National Grid Providence LNG Facility, whom he worked for the past 28 years. Joe was a member of the AMC climbing instructors teaching rock climbing classes, and was the former owner of the Rhode Island Rock Gym.
Joe was a Machinist's Mate, 3rd Class in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Destroyer Barney during the Persian Gulf Conflict.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Jane Goudreau of Lincoln; his three sisters, Cathy Morrone of Philadelphia, PA, Jean Winnegge of Lincoln and Linda Crompton of Wrentham, MA; four nieces, four nephews and two grand nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe's memory to the Access Fund (Protect America's Climbing), P.O.
