Jose do Albuqueque Amaral
CUMBERLAND - Jose do Albuqueque Amaral, 97 of Promontory Knoll, passed away peacefully Friday May 25, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Rosa C. (Ferreira) Amaral for 65 years.
Born in Esmolfe, Portugal, he immigrated to this country in 1950, settling in Cumberland. He was responsible for bringing his two brothers, sister and their families to the United States.
Mr. Amaral was employed as Carpenter for the Standard Nut and Bolt, for 35 years retiring in 1990.
He was a communicant of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
He leaves his son, Joseph Amaral MD, his devoted daughter-in-law, Linda and his beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Ashley, and Gregory, all of Cumberland; sister, Belmira Antunes of Cumberland and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Emidio, Miguel and Manuel Amaral.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. St. Mary Cemetery., Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 PM.
