John P. Lubera
PAWTUCKET- John P. Lubera Sr. 87, formerly of Roosevelt Avenue passed away at the VA Medical Center in Providence Monday October 25, 2010. He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie (Cordeau) Lubera.
Born in Fall River he was a son of the late Michael and Catherine (Strycharz) Lubera he was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
Before retiring he was employed as a Truck Driver for the former B. J. Kirk Transportation Co. of Pawtucket for many years. He was a Member of the Teamsters Local #251.
Mr. Lubera was a WWII Navy Veteran serving as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class. He was a member of the Fierlit-Korzen A.L. Post #79 of Central Falls.
He leaves 3 loving sons John Lubera Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Pawtucket, Willie Lubera and his wife Dita of Lincoln and Michael and his wife Kim of Burriville, 1 brother Michael "Mickey" Lubera of Central Falls, 2 sisters Irene Walsh of Kingston and Anne Paquette of Trumbull, CT., 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sophie Siwy, Jennie Petcavage, Theodore, Joseph, Walter, Stanley and Joseph Lubera.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Saturday October 30, 2010 at 8:30 AM from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Consolation Church Sabin Street Pawtucket at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. CALLING HOURS FRIDAY FROM 4:00 PM TO 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals 501 Front Street Norfolk, VA 23510 would be greatly appreciated. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Cumberland.
