John L. Marshall
EAST PROVIDENCE - John L. Marshall. 82, of East Providence and Narragansett died Sunday, February 27, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Asermely) Marshall. They had been married 59 years.
Mr. Marshall was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late John W. and Laura (Harris)Marshall. He was a member of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut and direct descendant of Uncas. He was a member of Local 251 Teamsters for over thirty years. Retiring in 1990 from Vallerie Transportation. Mr. Marshall also drove for United Nuclear for many years. He was a twenty three year veteran of the United States Naval Reserve.
Besides his wife Mr. Marshall is survived by his children Maureen M. Stolhammer of East Providence, Michael J. Marshall and his wife Wendy of North Carolina, Catherine A. Croce and her husband Robert of Cranston and Thomas P. Marshall and his wife Ann of North Providence. He also leaves his sisters Marjorie Golombiewski, and Julia Marshall of Pawtucket, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Marshall.
The funeral for Mr. Marshall will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. His burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery.
