John J. Connly
CUMBERLAND - John J. "Jack" Connly, 77 passed away Monday in R.I. Hospital Providence, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine M. (Biron) Connly.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Ambrose W. and Margaret J. (McManus) Connly. He resided in Cumberland for the past two years previously residing in Providence.
He was employed as a Computer Operator Supervisor for the State of Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean war having proudly served on the U.S.S. Missouri. Mr. Connly summered for 40 years at the Charlestown Breachway. After retiring, he enjoyed wintering in Florida. He also enjoyed camping with his family and dear friends.
He is survived by his sister Nancy J. Conway of Warwick, sister-in-law Lucille P. Thorpe of Cumberland, and many devoted nieces, nephews and cousins.
A military funeral will be held Friday at 9 AM from the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
