Joao E. M. Claro
CUMBERLAND - Joao E. M. Claro, 48, of Dorr St. died Sunday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the beloved husband of Isabel (Laires) Claro.
Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal he was the son of Ernesto and Esperanca (Morreira) Claro of Penalva do Castelo, Portugal.
He was the Co-owner of the Cumberland Seafood, Inc. of Macondray St. for the past four years. He was previously employed by the Northeast Cable Co., South Attleboro for twenty years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana, both of Cumberland. He also loved soccer and was an avid follower of Sporting Clube da Portugal.
Besides his wife and parents he leaves two children, Andreia and Nathaniel Claro both at home. One brother, Amadeu Claro of Portugal and two sisters, Maria F. Claro of Belgium and Ana C. Claro of Portugal. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will take place in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
