PAWTUCKET - Jeannette Cunard, 89, died on Thursday at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. She was the wife of the late George M.Cunard.
Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Alfred Lussier and Emma (Garneau) Lussier, she had resided in Pawtucket most of her life and was a communicant of St. Mary Church.
She was a homemaker and the devoted caretaker of her late daughter, Christine "Tina" Cunard. She was an avid Red Sox Fan, a good friend of Ben Mondor, and had a reserved parking space at the ball park. She was president of the PawSox Fan Club for 25 years. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans Association. During World War II, she served in the U.S. Army. She is survived by her son, George Cunard of Hope Mills, N.C., two grandsons and two granddaughters. She was the mother of the late Paul A. Cunard.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, (June 8th) at 9a.m. from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home will be TODAY (Tuesday) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
