Jean E. Blakey
SOUTH ATTLEBORO - Jean E. Blakey (Blackmer) 80, of South Attleboro and formerly of Pawtucket died February 4, 2012. She was the wife of the late Wilfred E."Whitey" Blakey.
She was born in Cranston, RI a daughter of the late Earl T. and Arlene E. (Franklin) Blackmer.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Smithfield Ave. Congregational Church. Besides her profound love of her family and animals, she was an avid gardener, loved boating on Narragansett bay and an amateur painter. She will be fondly remembered for her feisty personality and wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her 4 children Steven Blakey and his wife Donna of Pawtucket, Dana Blakey and his wife Anne of Pawtucket, Sharon Blakey of Smithfield and Lee-Anne Blakey of South Attleboro. 1 sister Virginia Waring and her husband Anthony of Swansea, MA. 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am in the Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home 530 Smithfield Ave. Pawtucket. Calling Hours Wednesday 5-7pm. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Blakey's memory may be made to Save The Bay 100 Save the Bay Drive Providence, RI 02905 www.savebay.org
