LINCOLN - Ames, Janet E. (Wescott) of Lincoln passed away peacefully on January 12, surrounded by her loving family. Born in West Brooksville, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Stillman and Clara (Blodgett) Wescott. She was predeceased by her husband George E. and her eldest son Dr. Glenn J. as well as her siblings Helen Farrow and Gordon Wescott.
She is survived by her loving sons Gregory P. and wife Wendy of Pawtucket, and George W. also of Pawtucket; her sister Joan Pearce and nieces Sharon Pearce and Kathleen Tucker all of Lincoln with whom she resided for many years; a brother Philip Wescott and wife Mickey of Covington, GA.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
One of the greatest joys in her life was having 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who have many happy memories to remember her by.
She was an active member of the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church for over 50 years serving as a deacon and in numerous other capacities. She enjoyed passing her time by knitting hats and blankets for newborn babies at Women and Infants Hospital.
Calling Hours Thursday 3-7pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm in the Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home, 530 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket.
