James J. Champeau
PAWTUCKET James J. Champeau, 69, of Summit Street passed away Thursday at home. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Rentes) Champeau.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James J. Champeau Sr. and Anita (Dumont) Champeau. He resided in Pawtucket since 1986, previously residing in Cumberland.
Mr. Chapeau was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a machinist for American Insulated Wire for over 30 years, and later was an associate for Lowes for 5 years, retiring in 2006.
Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Dawn Champeau and one son, James Champeau III both of Cumberland; one sister Irene Pombriant of Central Falls, as well as five grandchildren. He also leaves three step-brothers, Joseph Polion of Coventry, Ronnie Polion of Pawtucket, and George Polion of Florida; and one step-sister Jackie Dufant of Pawtucket. He was the brother of the late Sally Beauvais, and step-brother of the late Nancy King, and Walter Polion Jr.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday at 10 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday, 5-8 PM.
