CUMBERLAND - Jack Oliveira, 93, of Clark Street, passed away Saturday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Smith) Oliveira and they had been married for the past 65 years.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Faustino and Maria Oliveira. He resided in Cumberland for the past 20 years, previously residing on Brown Street in South Attleboro.
Mr. Oliveira was employed as a tool maker for the Fram Corporation for over 40 years until his retirement in 1981.
He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, South Attleboro. He was an avid gardener and fisherman, and also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Jackie Oliveira and his wife Debra of South Attleboro and Jon Oliveira and his wife Beth of Attleboro, two daughters Mary Champagne and her husband Albert of South Attleboro, and Barbara Santos and her husband Rand of Smithfield; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Theresa Church, 18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM.
