Irene L. Laberge
ATTLEBORO, MA - Irene L. Laberge, 93, of Phillips Street, Attleboro, passed on September 9, 2012 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late David Laberge who passed in 2010.
Born Irene Plante in Pawtucket on March 20, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Aurore (Denis) Plante. Irene was educated in Attleboro schools. She worked at several local companies including the Babcock Box Company, Lance Box Company, Kraft, Inc., and the W.E. Richaards Company prior to retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and cake decorating for weddings, and was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk.
Irene is survived by three daughters; Joan A. Schlenker and her husband Roy of Attleboro, Joyce E. Richards and her husband Terry of Van, Texas, and Ann R. O'Brien and her husband Thomas of Chepachet, Rhode Island, a brother; Paul Plante of Pawtucket, three sisters; Rita Konicki of Pawtucket, Marie Charron of Attleboro, and Theresa Delaney of Fall River, four grandchildren; Christine Stewart, Randy Schlenker, Michael Richards, and Jennifer Bodziony, four great grandchildren; Jarred and Logan Bodziony, and Meredith and Lauren Richards. She was the sister of the late Albert, Roland, Henry, Joseph Leo, Ernest, and Eugene Plante and Claire LeBeau.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro where the Laberge family will receive friends on Wednesday morning, September 12th from 8:30 - 9:30 A.M.. A funeral will be conducted from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 12th at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk. Irene will be laid to rest in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Attleboro.
