Irene J. Goffe-Maroney
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Irene J. (Jannarelli) Goffe-Maroney, 83, of Obed Avenue, died Thursday, April 21 at the Greenville Skilled Nursing Center, Smithfield. She was the wife of Edward A. Maroney, Sr., and the wife of the late Malcom S. Goffe.
Born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late Eugene and Angelina (Porcelli) Jannarelli, she had lived in North Providence for the past fourteen years.
Mrs. Goffe-Maroney was a Matron at Shea High School, Pawtucket and a waitress at the Friendly Tap & Grille.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Deborah LaMountain of Pawtucket, Susan Moquin of North Concord, VT, and Mala Ruzzano of North Providence; one son, Edwin E.G. Goffe of Cumberland; two stepsons, Jason Maroney of Cranston, and Edward Maroney, Jr. of Pawtucket; one sister, Concetta Carlucci of Greenville; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Ronald J. Goffe, the twin sister of the late Eugene Jannarelli, and the sister of the late Vincent Jannarelli and Susan Piche.
Her funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, R.I. 02906, would be appreciated.
